Upcoming Small-scale Poultry Training

Small Flock Education Workshop Series in Delaware

A free 1/2-day workshop on keeping small poultry flocks will be offered in each of Delaware's three counties (Newcastle, Kent, and Sussex) every two months. The theme of each workshop will be as follows:

  • October - "Getting Started with a Backyard Flock";
  • December - "So You Have Birds -Getting Ready for Winter & the Holidays!"
  • February - "Incubation & Brooding: Setting Up for Success!"
  • April - "Learn About Layers"
  • June - "Prepare Your Birds"
  • August - "More Than Just Chickens"

Presenters will be extension professionals from Delaware State University, University of Delaware, and University of Maryland. Currently, the cities in which meetings will be held are Newark (Newcastle Co.), Dover (Kent Co.), and Georgetown (Sussex Co.). Call Dr. Brigid McCrea for more information 302-857-6432.
